So lately, I've been captivated by the Swahili language, the language that Happyness speaks.
I've been trying to learn a few words in Swahili. After some serious research (Google is my bestie), "matumaini" my best guess of what my favourite word - HOPE - is in Swahili.
It can be so simple, yet so profound.
There are people who, by the world's standards, have it all, but can't seem to find hope.
Yet there are people who find hope in places the affluent never thought hope existed.
There are young people who lost all hope when they were far too young.
There are those searching for hope, destroying hope, finding hope, giving hope and holding on to hope because that's all they have left.
People who understand hope, misunderstand hope, believe in hope, think it's dumb and just plain never think about it.
Hope is a complicated thing if you really wanna think about it.
But let me tell you what hope means to me. Maybe it'll simplify it a bit, because when it all comes down to it, what hope means to me is pretty simple.
Hope is what drives life.
It's what makes you want to get out of bed in the morning.
Hope tells you "It's going to be okay."
Everyone needs hope.
Hope is what keeps you going. It keeps you believing, it keeps you loving, it keeps you smiling.
Hope helps you see the best in other people and it helps you believe the worst can be reversed.
Hope saves lives.
And you know, hope only comes from one place.
I mean, replace every "Hope" above with "Jesus".
It still makes sense right?
Are you looking for hope?
Find Jesus, I guarantee you'll find your hope. <3
