They say love is blind.
I could believe that. I'm mean, they also say you'd be stupid love a kid in a third world country that might never give anything back to you, so perhaps love is blind.
Well, okay. Maybe not blind, but actually seeing the flaws, the imperfections and every single reason why NOT to love, and loving in spite of all these things.
So maybe love isn't blind.
But love IS patient, and kind.
Love does not envy or boast.
Love is not proud, rude, or self-seeking.
Love is not easily angered and it keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
Love always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. [1 Corinthians 13:4-7]
We love because HE first loved us. [1 John 4:19]
God's love is made complete in us (That's a BIG job....). [1 John 4:12]
Love does no harm to it's neighbour. [Romans 13:10]
Love burns like a blazing fire, like a mighty flame. [Song of Solomon 8:6]
This might be a little cheesy, you know, "the single, Christian girl's response to Valentine's Day", but the Bible really does sum up what love truly is. I mean, that really describes the way I want to BE loved (by a boy or otherwise) and the way I want TO love.
So cheesy or not, that's my take on Valentine's Day this year.
Love God, love others. [Matthew 22:37-39]
Love never fails! [1 Corinthians 13:8]
Happy Valentine's Day! :)
